The Revolution Continued

What lays in the abyss it has created.

2010

Materials: Reinforced heavy-duty cardboard, glue, packing tape, digital video and paper. Whangarei Art Musuem Collection

Digital pigment ink prints. Collection of the Artist.

An installation based project. Combining sculptural forms and video. The project addresses themes relating to the diaspora of local and global displaced communities in the Middle East and the West.

Theories on Diaspora can be both regional and global in the definition. Diaspora artists affected by global migration propose for themselves hybrid identities simultaneously influencing the new environments they live in. The homeland is not a memory of a fixed place in time, but rather it is a discourse that engages the past, present and future all at once.
